MEET OUR TEAM

  • TOVA

    Chef/Owner

Tova started Short Winter Soups in the fall of 2010. She started cooking for a crowd during her time at Earlham College and was introduced to sustainable agriculture through their campus farm and then during a semester off at ADAMAH, a Jewish farm in CT. She continued to work on farms after college, and then began doing market research on starting a business that would become Short Winter Soups. Tova lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and two daughters, and loves contra dancing.

  • ALANNA

    Kitchen Supervisor & Outreach Coordinator

Alanna is a trained elementary educator who has lived in Texas, Ohio, Virginia and Israel. She began her journey into preparing food for others with One Inspired Chef, a vegan company she started and ran from 2013-2015 in El Paso. Alanna has lived in the Triangle area since 2015. When she’s not managing Short Winter Soups, she enjoys spending time with her husband in their Bahama home; road biking with friends; and swimming in pools, lakes, and oceans.
